Sound of Korea: 2013 Korea Day Cultural Fair

To celebrate the Year of Korea in Canada and the 50th Diplomatic Relations, the Centre for the Study of Korea (CSK) in the University of Toronto will hold the inaugural U of T Korea Day Cultural Fair with student organizations and the support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto. The event will feature a lecture and performances of traditional Korean music with the theme ‘Sound of Korea’ along with the quiz contest on Korea and various student-organized cultural activities. Enjoy Korean traditional games, and get free Korean lunch & many gifts. Also join the quiz contest and win big prizes!
Date and Time: 11:30 am-6:00 pm, Saturday, November 30
Location: George Ignatieff Theatre & Buttery (15 Devonshire Place), University of Toronto

Cultural Exhibition: 11:30 am-2:30 pm (@ Buttery)


Participating Groups: UTL Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library, Korea Club, UTKSA, EASSU, UofT Talk Talk, KOVA, INDePth, Hally Dongari (YorkU), Korea Tourism Organization, Korean Education Center in Canada

Free Korean lunch, snacks, drinks, and souvenirs will be provided.

Musical Performance and Quiz Contest:  2:00 pm - 6:00 pm (@ George Ignatieff Theatre)
- Opening Ceremony
- “Singing P’ansori, Transnationally: Lecture and Performance” by Professor Chan E. Park  
- Performance by The Korean Traditional Music Association of Canada

- Quiz Contest on Korea (The Quiz Contest is open to the public; all non-native speakers of Korean can join the contest. Prizes include a laptop computer, a tablet pc, THEFACESHOP gift cards and more. All participants will get various souvenirs including a cap, Korean keyboard stickers, TheFaceShop cosmetics sample, and a mouse pad.)
