Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Japanese Canadian Redress Settlement

The National Association of Japanese Canadians (NAJC) played a vital role in successfully negotiating the Japanese Canadian redress settlement on behalf of all Japanese Canadians.  This year (2013) marks the 25th anniversary of the redress settlement signed on September 22, 1988.

In commemoration of this historical event, The NAJC, in collaboration with the Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library, is sponsoring an exhibition entitled “Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Japanese Canadian Redress Settlement.”  The exhibition consists of 24 panels made up of text and photographs depicting the history of Japanese Canadians in Canada, and specifically, their internment experience during the WWII.
